3,000 entries by the Schoolmarm

With all the weather problems and other major news events in the world, it may sound silly to even talk about how many items are listed on this website.
But in the spirit of taking your minds off of the problems for just a few minutes, let me share that I have now added my 3,000th entry.
It shows how hard I have worked over the last two years to gather information to share with you.
It represents a lot of hours sitting at the computer.
It gives good insight into what I find interesting, funny and meaningful.
My delight is hearing that you enjoy what I am doing, it helps motivate me to continue.
According to Google, The Schoolmarm is getting around 1,000 hits a month.  Each one is appreciated. Along with the writings, the pictures and the jokes, comes prayers for YOU dear hearts, that God will bless and protect you.

At St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Toronto , they have weekly marriage seminars for husbands.

At the session last week, the priest asked Giuseppe, who said he was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes and share some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman all these years.

Giuseppe replied to the assembled husbands, ‘Wella, I’va tried to treat her nicea, spenda da money on her, but besta of all is, I tooka her to Italy for the 25th anniversary!”

The priest responded, “Giuseppe, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here! Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for your 50th anniversary?”

Giuseppe proudly replied, ” I gonna go pick her up.”

Breathe easier with Broccoli:

UCLA researchers found one more reason why broccoli should be on your grocery list.

In addition to helping prevent heart disease, cancer, and cataracts, it can also alleviate asthma, allergic rhinitis, and other respiratory conditions that keep you wheezing.

Studies show that sulforaphane, a chemical found in broccoli, caused a more than 100% spike in antioxidant protection in nasal airways, curbing the free radicals found in pollution, pollens, and smoke.

Who Knew? Rosemary is a Soother

Health Magazine and  author Leslie Barrie, think Rosemary is just great.  One suggestion for using the herb …….

Muscle soother:

Think of rosemary as your natural Icy Hot. “The herb contains many therapeutic oils that can help muscles loosen up,” says Trisha Shirey, director of flora and fauna at Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, Texas.

To ease soreness, make Shirey’s rejuvenating rosemary body scrub:

Combine 1/4 cup sea salt and ground or finely chopped fresh rosemary from the leaves of (4 inch) sprig; mix with 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil and 3 drops each of rosemary and peppermint essential oils.

Scrub skin lightly with the mixture; shower off.  your muscles will relax, and so will you.
