The Healing Touch: Pastor Rick

May 29th, 2011 Comments off

Hello Friends,

The next two articles  show us a big difference between the time Jesus walked on  the Earth and how we struggle to bring healing on our own.  It was so easy for God Incarnate. Jesus wasn’t like faith healers we have seen who only seem to get a moving of God’s healing power in big crusades. They do not go about healing everyone they come in contact with, the way Jesus did. Why is that?

If the healing power of God flowed through me I don’t think I would be able to rest, but would visit every Intensive Care Ward I could.  But if I could do that, or anyone else, people would start to focus on me, or you,  if you were the instrument being used.  It wouldn’t work, would it?  God must receive the glory and the honor.

So, we pray to God that he will give the doctors wisdom, that researchers will find answers and that we will use these revelations to benefit mankind.

Keep the faith friends, keep praying, do your part and God will do His. Rick

John 5: 1-17

The Healing at the Pool on the Sabbath

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades. In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and paralyzed. One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.

Now that day was the Sabbath. So the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.” But he answered them, “The man who healed me, that man said to me, ‘Take up your bed, and walk.’” They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.” The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them,“My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

Exciting Medical News

I couldn’t help but think of Christopher Reeve when I read about a 25 year old Los angeles man paralyzed from the waist down.

Rob Summers has regained the ability to stand, take steps on a treadmill and move his hips, knees, ankles and toes voluntarily, as a result of an experimental treatment developed at UCLA and the University of Kentucky.

He has received two years of electrical stimulation to his damaged spinal cord with a device normally used for pain relief.  He has also regained some bladder and sexual function.

According to Dr. John McDonald, director of the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at the Kennedy Krieger Institute of Baltimore, the new treatment is ” a very exciting discovery” that can probably be used to help 10% to 15% of people with spinal cord injuries regain some use of their legs.  ” It has the potential to make a dramatic difference in their lives.”

Researchers from the University of Zurich wrote: “We are entering a new era when the time has come for spinal-cord-injured patients to move.”

Let’s pray that this is  a real break through and that many people will come out of their paralysis.  I wish one of them could have been Christopher Reeve.
