Do you have an iPad?Photo on 2014-05-05 at 17.00 #3

A year or so ago when I was considering getting an iPad, at the urging of my son, I said “I may not use it so choose one that you  like since you’ll probably end up with it.”

Tim said, “Mom, if you are like everyone else I won’t be able to pry it from your hands.”

He was right I love it!

I had thought that it was only for the convenience of carrying it around. That didn’t seem so different from a laptop, which I never took to.  In fact, the laptop seemed to make me a bit queasy. Maybe it was a vision thing. The iPad doesn’t bother me a bit.

I didn’t think I would want it to read books, because I like reading paper books.  I was wrong on that too. Reading on the iPad is just great.

I was unaware of all the apps you could get to bring your favorite things into this one mechanism. I get to listen to my favorite preacher/ teacher, I go to Facebook, I go to the schoolmarm, I read my emails and I’m even getting my news on it. CNN Highlights without all the nonsense. And, as I am doing right now, I can dictate instead of type.  The keyboard is not as easy to use as a regular computer, but now they are offering a keyboard to  make it easier.

So, I have joined the throngs of iPad lovers.  I don’t want to give up my desktop iMac, but I definitely plan to keep an iPad too.

How about you?  Are you an iPad lover?

Just Being Jana

JanaWe stayed in a hotel last night. Checked in and went to put our leftovers in the fridge….and the fridge didn’t work. After several attempts to fix it, I called the front desk to address the problem. They promptly came….they saw…..they plugged it in….they left. 5 minutes total down time. A few minutes later the manager knocked on the door with flowers and a bottle of wine for us “for our trouble” he said. Never had that happen before. Very impressed. I was going to unplug the microwave to see if he might bring us some chips, but Mike wouldn’t let me.
