7-Up Biscuits

I was surprised to find that this is a well known recipe to make biscuits.  You can substitute other lemony lime drink for the 7UP.  Have you tried it?

4 cups Bisquick

1 cup sour cream

1 cup 7-UP

1/2 cup melted butter

Mix first three ingredients.  The dough will be very soft.

Knead and fold dough until coated with your baking mix.

Pat dough flat and cut out biscuits.

Melt butter in bottom of cookie sheet or 9×13 casserole dish.

Place biscuits on top of melted butter.

Bake at 425degrees for 12-15 minutes or until brown.

While French sculptor Fredric-Auguste Bartholdi was working on the Statue ofLiberty,

his dear wife, Charlotte Bartholdi, spent many long hours, days, weeks, posing for the figure.

When it came time to sculpt the face, Monsieur Bartholdi chose the face of his mother.

hmmm, Wonder what his wife thought about that.  Can’t you just hear her . . .

“Votre Mère ? Vous toujours la mettez un piédestal ! “Remercie beaucoup Freddy, vous le grand bébé !

( “Your Mother?  You’re always putting her on a pedestal! Thanks a lot, Freddy, you big baby!”)
