Two Girls Named Audrey

October 31st, 2015 Comments off

When I saw this picture of  little Audrey standing at age 5 months, it reminded me of my sister Audrey (who turns 84 today) who walked at seven months!

These two Audreys, precious and precocious, stood on their own very early in life! They both are sent our very best wishes.  Happy Birthday Audrey!

Hollywood has lost another legend . We are deeply saddened to hear the passing of Hollywood icon and Irish legend – Maureen O’Hara. She was the epitome of what a strong, fierce, sassy, classy, beautiful and intelligent Irish woman can accomplish in this world when she wants to. John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara starred in five movies together including The Quiet Man (1952).

More and More About the Human Brain

  1. Scientists say the higher your I.Q. the more you dream. While this may be true, don’t take it as a sign you’re mentally lacking if you can’t recall your dreams. Most of us don’t remember many of our dreams and the average length of most dreams is only 2-3 seconds–barely long enough to register.
  2. Neurons continue to grow throughout human life. For years scientists and doctors thought that brain and neural tissue couldn’t grow or regenerate. While it doesn’t act in the same manner as tissues in many other parts of the body, neurons can and do grow throughout your life, adding a whole new dimension to the study of the brain and the illnesses that affect it.
  3. Information travels at different speeds within different types of neurons. Not all neurons are the same. There are a few different types within the body and transmission along these different kinds can be as slow as 0.5 meters/sec or as fast as 120 meters/sec. ican’tsee you.com

This is my neighbor Chris, (Nancy & Dave’s son, brother to Will). Chris is a creative, talented, serious but outgoing, entertaining, charming young man. A student at University of San Diego, he is spending four months studying in Ireland. I am sure he is making many friends, and that his Irish relatives are happy to have him there.

We wish him the very best . . . with love from Mrs. T.

He posted this on FB.
