You can forget how miserable a cold is, until you get one!

As a would be artist I have painted with tiny brushes to very large ones. They were chosen as needed. I would not try to paint the subtles of a face with a big brush, but would choose the smaller ones to delicately define the features.

As an observer of the new administration I see it as owning only one size brush, large, cumbersome and unweilding.  It doesn’t allow for nuances, research and careful thought. Some say this is what his followers want. I am not a fan of his tactics and think everyone on both sides had better stay awake.

If you are a true supporter of DT please don’t be afraid to admit when he is wrong.

What? A woman doctor?

Since I have removed myself from watching cable news to avoid being upset every night by the political scene, I have been watching a lot of old old game shows. One I’m sure you’ve heard of is  what’s my line. It helps us to realize by watching it just how much has changed in the world as far as women in the workplace. Just now there was a woman plasterer, the only one in the United States with the union card.  The other day I saw one with where they made a big deal out of the fact that the woman was al dentist. Many of the shows were in the late 50’s and early 60s I believe that makes sense because when I went to college the jobs readily available to women were teachers or secretaries. Thank goodness more opportunities are available today.

I’m sure some of you are not happy with the changes I am making on this blog but it is where  I am at the moment. I’d always thought I would not make it political but as I’ve tried to explain I had a motive because I didn’t want to offend anyone and I didn’t want to lose anyone from coming To this blog. I just can’t do that anymore.

I’m 74 years old and when I was born women had only been voting for  22 years. I’ve never understood that. I’ve never understood why  fathers, husbands, brothers, cousins, uncles, nephews, and the other males in their lives would deny women the right to vote. Just as I still cannot understand why men refuse to pay women the same for the same work.

It doesn’t make any sense to me. At one time it was “well the men have families to feed”  that is no longer relevant because so many men do not live up to their responsibilities, a vast number of women are the breadwinners for their families yet they don’t make as much as the man next to them on the job. I don’t get it friends and I never will.

Scary Times

So much is happening so quickly that I can not keep up and maybe that is for the best. It appears that DT is making rapid changes through executive orders. It is unnerving to say the least. I wonder if his followers are thrilled, or like the rest us, terrified at what he may do next. His party seems to have little influence on his decisions. Why should he listen to them, they did not support him during the election. A vendictive man, as he is, will not forget.

What a Surprise!

DT has asked FBI  director Comey to stay.  Biggest laugh for today. Of course he should stay, after the HUGE favor he did DT during the election. DT owes the director, big time!

Oh brother!

Mucho Agua thank you Lord for the rain.

The sun is shining brightly in our town today and the grass is looking greener than it has in years. So thankful for the rain that has  fallen on us in the last few days! Of course as I feared, there have been mudslides, leaking roofs, accidents on freeways, and other problems, but the long term effect of being out of a drought is a great blessing .

Our Heavenly Father , thank you for the rain. Help us not to forget what it is like when rain is withheld from us. Thank you for the blessings and help us to appreciate them as they happen not just in retrospect. We love you Lord and ask you to bless each one who reads this. Guide us and give us wisdom we pray in Jesus’ name.  amen

Pray for those who have suffered because of the rain.

The Thompsons in Delaware are friends of mine and I am so sorry to hear that they have had a tree come through their roof  and another tree fell on their car. In New Mexico, Jody and Barb  have had a roof give way causing flooding in their home. I am sure there are many others who are dealing with the effects of massive rain .

It is true that rain is a blessing it is also true that rain can cause tremendous problems. For people sitting in nice homes the rain does not cause a problem of shelter as it does for those on the street.  For those trying to make a living with businesses that have to shut down during excessive rain it causes more problems financially that for us who work either indoors or don’t have to work at all. It is all relative isn’t it?

the way it is

A great supporter of this blog wrote of his disappointment of me going political. I can understand that very well because for 8 yrs I have kept to my philosophy of being patriotic, not political. I never wanted to post anything that would reveal my own leanings. I neither praised our president or cast aspersions as some would have enjoyed. When the # of death threats reached 400 for our first African American president, I didn’t call it out for its blatant racism. I was a coward. I cared more for the number of hits I got on my blog than confronting the truth and losing many readers.

I hate the double standard – that people will overlook or somehow live with this vulgar law breaker. No issue seems to turn his ‘believers’ from defending him. It is almost like they have had mind control used on them. How else can it be explained. He is making the weakest of his 17 Republican opponents look more honorable and decent. No,, it isn’t about Hillary, we are way beyond her at this point.

He has changed me. I am no longer A coward, but care more for the truth than thousands of hits.

Thank You!
