This duck nests in the Arctic Tundra and spends winters as far south as Maine in the North Atlantic. They are also found in northern Europe and Asia. They are primarily found on the ocean and not in inland waters.

This one was photographed at the Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park in Scotland Neck, North Carolina.”    Bill Stice

Bill Stice in Action” Nature often creates some interesting partnerships. Adult alligators will prey on fairly large turtles and large turtles will prey on small alligators. This alligator and these turtles must have temporarily called a truce to come out of the cold water and sun themselves on the same platform. This swamp (Audubon Swamp Walk at Magnolia Plantation Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina) has a limited number of spots to get out of the water and in early April the water is still fairly cold. Nature never ceases to amaze me!” Bill Stice

“Okay here is one for the golf fans.
This is Arnold Palmer and Rocco Mediate
at the 2000 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
I think this is hole #13.
The azaleas were beautiful that year.”
